Thanksgiving Break Security 2015

If you are a Penn State fraternity, FRATFIX can make your vacation time more relaxing and less worrisome by providing some basic security checks to your house during the break.  To request this service call Greg at (814) 880-3131.

For our regular customers we want to remind you that we will, as in past years, perform the following tasks during the break as part of our maintenance program:
• Conduct a regular walk-through of your house to check for potential problems.
• Check all systems and appliances for proper settings during non-use, this includes: boilers, freezers, coolers, stoves, dish washers, etc.
• Keep the building and properties code compliant by timely removal of snow, ice and litter.
• Make sure your house is secure by checking all windows, exits and entrances.

Welcome Back Fall 2015

Greetings From FRATFIX!

We welcome you to Happy Valley for the 2015 fall semester which began August 24^th.  This is quite a busy time on the Penn State campus and it’s great to see the community come back to life with the start of a brand new academic year.  We wish you good luck and much success in the coming year.

The talk on campus this time of the year is football and the continuation of the Franklin era.  With the many returning veteran players and a top recruiting class, we expect a great season—Go Penn State.

With football comes Homecoming Week which starts October 4^th and culminates on October 10^th with the football game against the Indiana Hoosiers. This year’s theme is “A Legacy to Shape the Future”. The parade is on October 9^th and starts at 6:00 p.m. For more details about this year’s Homecoming and parade visit https://homecoming.psu.edu.

Penn State Thon

 What is THON?

The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, or THON, is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THON is a year-long effort which raises funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer. With the support of students from all across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania and supporters all around the world, we continue to make great strides towards finding a cure for all childhood cancers. Our efforts culminate with a two day, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon in February.

When is THON?

The 46-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon will be held February 20-22, 2015 in the Bryce Jordan Center.

Where can I buy official THON merchandise?

Official THON merchandise can be purchased through our online THON Store at https://store.thon.org/.

Keep Pipes From Freezing

With the temperature dropping dangerously low for the next several days, the following tips can help prevent water pipes from freezing.

(1) To Prevent Frozen Pipes:

• Keep the thermostat at least at 60 Degrees.
• Let faucets drip slightly when not using water for a few hours.
• Open doors on kitchen and bathroom cabinets to let warmer air circulate under the sinks.

(2) Evidence you may have a frozen pipe:

• Frost has accumulated on a pipe under sinks.
• Little or no water comes out of the kitchen or bathroom faucets.
